When I read his argument there were times when I did agree with what he said and there were times that I did not. I do agree that most, not all, Americans don’t really have a true laughter anymore. The one sentence that really caught my eye is when he said, “a real laugh, a fake real laugh, and a filler laugh.” I see many people and even I participate in a fake real laugh. To me this is when someone is laughing but laughing at a fake statement that is not really funny to them. In the end just being “polite” as Klosterman says. I have experienced this fake real laugh myself. Sometimes when I talk to people and they something that that they think is funny, but I do not I just start laughing because I want to be polite because they probably wanted to make me laugh. One of the things that I did not agree with is that laughing tracks are used because “Normal people” don’t really know what is funny so using laughing tracks can show them what to laugh at. To me laughing tracks are just annoying. I feel like when I am trying to watch a show and I hear that laughing sound in the background it’s kind of like when someone’s phone goes off in a movie theater. Also I think that laughing tracks don’t really guide people to what is suppose to be funny. People will laugh at something when it is funny to them.

Topics for Research Paper and Questions
The topic that I hope to do research on for my research paper are cruelty to farm aniamls. From this I hope to show how farmers are being cruel to their animals and how it can affect them and also the human society. Some ways of how farm animals can be abused are bad living environments, not enough food intake, and improper breeding. These are just of the ways that farm animals are abused but there are so many other different ways out there. Searching for animal cruelty is a research topic for the Veterinarian field. I read in an article about how dairy cows were getting produced dieseases, which causes them to have poor nutrient intake. This in the end causes them to not to be able to develop enough milk. This topic affects the farmers because this lamness of taking care of the dairy cows will bring them less income. Also this situation affects customers and retailers because they all trust these farmers to support us with milk. Farm animal cruelty is not really talked about very offten between people. Most people talk about animal testing, which is still a serious issue but most of the products today come from farms. But still being cruel to farm animals in particular is still serious issue. Human society needs to be able to trust the farmers that they treat their animals as if they were their own children. Farmers being cruel is not only unfair to human society but it is also unfair to the animals. If a farmer wants to get animals they need to know that they have to take care of them because no farm animal can take care of themselves.
1. What are the different types of cruelty done to farm animals?
2. How many cases of cruelty are there a year?
3. The different types of neglect that happen to farm animals?
4. How do the cruelty to farm animals affect human society?
5. How do the cruelty to farm animals affect farmers?
6. What are ways that have been created to stop the cruelty?

Annotation and Bibliographic
This article talks about how dairy cows are being exposed to produced diseases that cause them to lose nutrients to support milk production. They believe that some of the produced diseases to cause this are inconsistency of nutrient intake, unsuitable diet and environment, and improper breeding. One of the ways that the dairy cows are more likely to obtain the produced diseases are 3 weeks before they give birth and 3 weeks after they give birth. At the end they hope to have farmers to be more honest about their care for the cows to the dairy industry. Because if they are not honest it shows the lameness of their care for their cows and causes them to bring in less profit. With farmers being able to take care of the dairy cows with proper care the will be more reliable to the dairy industry, the customers, and the retailers. This article applies to my field because I want to be a veterinarian for large animals. With this article I am exposed to an issue that concerns diary cows. From this information I am able to stay alert and be willing to help out this issue by examining different dairy cows to make sure they are not being exposed to produced diseases.

Richtel Article
I thought that the Richtel article was really good. I thought that it was really interesting to learn about all the different research that scientist go through to find an answer on how technology affects people today compared to the past. The one test that was done by Mr. Ophir was a test that can be related to many people today. The results for the test showed that multitaskers are less efficient to solve and grasp the event or problem in front of them. I thought that this test could be related to people today because today many people multitask when they are doing things on the computer. When multitasking it is hard for them to focus on just one thing that they are not able to grab the concept of what they are tyring to do in the first place. Some students today multitask when studying and/or doing homework causing them to take longer to do the assignment and not being able to fully understand what they are studying or trying to do for the homework.
The part of the article that got my greatest attention was the story about Mr. Campbell. I felt sorry for what technology is putting him through. Technology is taking him away from his kids, wife, and even work. He does play video games with his son but a father and son bond need more then just video games to keep them at a close relationship. I felt bad for the wife because she has tried to go on vacations where she wanted her husband to unplug from technology and spend time with her and the family. In the end the entire family started using more technology in their lives. The wife was baking cookies and everytime her phone went off she turned all of her attention to the phone forgetting about the cookies and ended up burning them. In the end she couldn't stop going to her phone everytime it went off so she just bought cookies instead. I feel that this family is headed down a bad path of separation from each other. They need to go on a "diet" from technology and try to spend more time together as a family. Because to me family is the most important thing in the world.
